Tampa Criminal Defense Attorney Brian E. Gonzalez's polished trial skills and professional demeanor have earned him the respect of clients, peers, prosecutors and judges throughout Florida.  He has successfully tried important high stakes cases that were broadcast beginning to end on Court TV, earning praise from other commentators and legal experts.

Brian received his Juris Doctorate degree from South Texas College of Law in 1984.  Before attending law school, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Florida in 1981.  He was a scholarship baseball player while at UF, his teams winning Southeastern Conference Championships in 1980 and 1981.

Brian has been a member of several legal organizations such as the American Bar Association, the Florida Bar Criminal Section, the Hillsborough County Bar Association, the Hillsborough County Criminal Defense Lawyer's Association and the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

He began his legal career in 1985 in Tampa, where his family has lived for over 100 years as an Associate with the respected criminal firm of Ferlita, Nutter and Rosello, P.A.  In 1989, he opened the Law Offices of Brian E. Gonzalez, P.A. and was soon well known for his defense of high profile cases in Hillsborough County.  Brian represented Jon Whispel, whose case garnered national attention after he and Adam Davis participated in the murder of Vickie Robinson, the mother of teenager and co-defendant Valessa Robinson.  He also, at one time, represented infamous serial killer Oscar Ray Bolin.  Other high profile cases include representation of Robert Brim, known as the Hyde Park Rapist, whose defense included the first successful pretrial attack on the admissibility of DNA evidence in a criminal case and Joshua Rosa, whose first degree murder trial was televised gavel to gavel nationally by Court TV.

For in excess of 29 years, Brian Gonzalez has committed himself to only defending criminal cases.  He has personally handled over 7,000 criminal cases to conclusion in numerous Florida counties, every Florida Federal District Court and in multiple states.  He has diligently represented criminal defendants in over 220 trials with clients charged with everything from first degree murder, drug trafficking, robbery and rape to theft, violation of probation and DUI.

Winning a case depends not only on the circumstances of your charges but upon how well it is presented to a judge, a jury or a prosecutor.  You need experience on your side.  You need a strong reputation on your side.  You need an attorney who has had continued success in the courtroom by concentrating on only one area of the law - criminal law.
